The 200+ member not-for-profit local regulatory organization changed its name to Brandon Area REALTORS® to reflect its entire membership, not just the Board of Directors. According to president Cam Toews, about one-third of its members are in rural areas as far away as 856km in Thompson, MB and the name is also meant to encompass those members too. “We also rebranded our organization with a new name through a strategic plan last fall, which also included a new mission, vision, value statement, to try to bring it up to date,” Toews said. After moving out of its old downtown location, the organization was renting an office for nearly two years. Last week, the 47-year-old not-for-profit moved back downtown to its new location at 312 10th Street. “We felt it necessary as an organization that promotes ownership that we should own our building,” Toews said. “It was prudent for us to put our money into a building.”
